Good Afternoon Comparison Shopping Engine Marketers!!

Thanksgiving is officially one week away! I don’t know about you, but I can not wait to have the whole family together, all gathered around a tale full of amazing home made dishes! I get hungry just thinking about it!!

With Thanksgiving being only one week away, that also means that the biggest retail shopping day of the year, Black Friday, is only eight (8) days away! This also means that the biggest online shopping day of the year, Cyber Monday, is only eleven (11) days away!

Which bring me to the title of this post which just so happens to be the title of an e-mail I received from one of my readers yesterday lol! She was worried that it was too late to get her website’s products on Google Product Search.

After I received that e-mail I decided to write up a step by step guide on getting your products on Google Product Search. This also prompted me to create a whole new section on the site titled “CSE Setup Guides”. You can find this section on the right of the site above the Recent Posts header.

So here it is my faithful readers, the guide to get your products on Google Product Search in time for Cyber Monday!

It’s time to kick off the holiday season! Lets get this party started… right!

Good afternoon Comparison Shopping Engine Masters!

This morning while I was having my coffee I was browsing some blogs looking for the latest comparison shopping engine news I came across a good article on the Solid Cactus Blog so I wanted to share it with my readers as well.

The article is titled “Amazon Marketplace sends your items to free CSEs and may be charging you for it

The article is about the relationship between Amazon and Google Product Search. It explains how Amazon will submit your products to Google Product Search even if you are as well. Some think this maybe be a good thing while others believe it to have a negative impact.

If you check out the comments sections, you will see that there is a bit of a discussion following up on some of the points made in the article. I even decided to add my two cents as well. I encourage you to check out the article and add your own comments or questions.

That’s all I have for you today. I hope everyone has a great weekend and a scary, but safe, Halloween!

Good afternoon comparison shopping engine Ghouls and Ghosts :)
Halloween is in a few days, do you have your costume ready yet? I hope so! :)

Today, I was looking at my Google Analytics account for the site and noticed that we have been getting some organic referals, from Google.com, of people who were searching for the ‘Bing Shopping Category Taxonomy’ but it was not on the site!

Well today I have corrected this! Below you will find a link to download the most recent Bing Shopping Category Taxonomy. This taxonomy was updated on 7.28.10, the day when Bing Cashback went away and the program converted to the current Bing Shopping program.

Click here to download the Bing Shopping Taxonomy

The categories that are located within this taxonomy should be used to populate the ‘B_Category’ field within your data-feed. The field can also be titled ‘BingCategory’. The description of this field within the merchant integration guide is as follows:

Bing Shopping Category. Bing’s list of categories to match your product to Bing’s standardized structure.

You should not use the categories located in the taxonomy to populate the field ‘MerchantCategory’. The description of this field within the merchant integration guide is as follows:

Your category hierarchy for this product. The category hierarchy usually does not change over the lifetime of a product.

Note:Please send only the primary category (most relevant, most descriptive) to which this offer should be assigned.

Have a great day and a Spoooooky Halloweeeeeeeeen!
